A North Carolina native, James Bolt cultivated his love for food and spirits at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He joined The Gin Joint team in October of 2013 where he has honed in on his passion for creating handcrafted cocktails. As The Gin Joint’s Beverage Director, James creates complex, balanced recipes for the seasonal cocktail menus, inspired by pre-prohibition cocktails while using fresh, unique ingredients. His ingredient-focused, culinary approach to cocktails brings unique creations to the ever-changing menu.

James is a member of Charleston Brown Water Society and has worked with renowned establishments in the Southeast such as McCrady’s Restaurant in Charleston. He also worked with Cochon 555, traveling nationwide with chefs and winemakers to put together competition style events, including the 2015 Aspen Food and Wine Classic.

James’ cocktails have been featured in The Local Palate, Charleston Magazine, Liquor.com, Bravo Blog, Imbibe, Departures Magazine and more.
