Alex Stupak is the chef and owner of Empellón in New York City.
Alex made a drastic shift into the world of Mexican cooking after years of focusing on avant garde desserts as the pastry chef at Clio, Alinea, and wd~50.
In March of 2010, he opened Empellón Taqueria to force himself out of what had become a comfortable situation and embrace an unfamiliar system of cooking in order to keep growing and learning through out his career.
Since then, Alex has opened Empellón Cocina and Empellón Al Pastor.
